The Latest Trends...

There has been a trend as of late in our rehearsals for Scab. It has to do with a vowel for consonant replacement strategy and goes like this: replace all the vowels in a word with “R’s”, so Seth would become SRTH, calendar would be come CRLRNDR, and Scab would become SCRB! (Pronounced sk-URB)

I’m not quite sure how this language-hack got started, but it has won acclaim in our hearts.

Four weeks ago we slipping “R’s” in here and there; inquiring about a post rehearsal pot-luck became, “Shall we make a trip to the srprrmrkrt?” This week any one of us would be comfortable spouting out, “Whrt thr hrll rs grrng rn, crmprdrrs?”

Yes, we’re going into our last week of rehearsal before tech and I think we all feel—loose. In a good way, in the way that when Libby asks if we can use a rolling stool as one of the onstage chairs, we all have a good natured laugh at the possible medical side-effects that come with a diagnosis of a “rolling stool”. Keeping our humor in the gutter, right where it belongs.

R lrvr rrr Srth. (Note that I count "y" as a vowel in this case...a thorny issue we need to discuss.)

Frnny strff.

Have a question though: What's on the blackboard behind you guys? It appears to be some sort of diagram. Is this a direct product of rehearsal?

Can't wait to fly into Chicago for opening!!!

I am pretty sure the drawings on the blackboard were there at the beginning of rehearsal. They sure do make us look like we were doing some Good Will Hunting style math theorems, though, huh?
