Here's the dilly, yo

I'm ____________________________. That's how I'm feeling, or rather... I'm unsure of how I am feeling but I feel the need to post. The weather is hot, the Summer is in full swing and Collision is on a brief, brief hiatus until the CRASH BASH, slated for August 12.

OK, here's something that you won't find on the website and if you talk to your average CTC company member they may not mention, but August 12, the day of our big fundraiser the CRASH BASH is also my birthday! YES! That's right, you can give me the best gift in the world this year, instead of presents, give me the gift of your presence at our rockin' fundraiser.

Think about it the CB is 19 days away. If $35 puts the squeeze on your wallet, then start saving up. If you put away less than $2 a day from now until August 12, you'd have more than enough money to attend the BASH. Besides, if you were to go out drinking on a Friday night, wouldn't you spend more that 35 bucks anyway. I know you would...

Thank you for your time.

PS- It's my birthday, people!

Two down, one to go . . .

On the evening of Tuesday, July 19th Collision Theatre Company held the second installment of the Summer Reading Series, The Flu Season, at the Bailiwick Arts Center. I am happy to say that despite a few minor setbacks early in the evening the reading was a success. Yea!

Arriving at the theatre around 4 p.m., we discovered that the air conditioning was not working. Apparently Collision has a knack for breaking air conditioning systems. At the first reading, Shotgun Wedding, the air conditioning was also incapacitated. Fortunately while to air con waas not working in the lobby and studio space it was working in the main stage space. We had rented the studio space, but due to the nature of our situation the Bailiwick offered us the main stage space. Yea! Needless to say we were extremely grateful. Also, approximately three hours before the reading was to commence we discovered that our caterer had scheduled the food preparation and delievery for July 20th, not July 19th, thus we were to be without hors d'oeurves. Fortunately we have the incredible Ellen Gladish as a member of the company and she addressed the problem immdiately and with great success. So, despite the minor setbacks, we did indeed have air conditioning for the comfortability level and hors d'oeurves for the munching pleasure of the lovely audience. Success!

The reading itself was well received, which made the company very happy. I personally was very pleased because I was able to discuss with several audience members their thoughts and ideas concerning not only the reading, but the play itself. An important part of the Summer Reading Series is that it gives Collision a forum within which we can have a dialogue with audiences regarding the strengths and weaknesses of a potential piece. Thank you for your questions and comments - every one of them was well appreciated.

Now we set our sights on the not to distant future. In August Collision will hold the CRASH BASH as well as the final installment of the Summer Reading Series, Chest Red Blew, a brand new play by the esteemed Megan Breen. We are all very excited about these upcoming events and hope that you will be a part of what Collision is doing this summer. Its all for you. Its all for you.

Crash with us.
